50th Anniversary of Tibet's National Uprising

March 10 , 2009

Chanting "Long Live the Dalai Lama" and "China's Communist Party lies, Tibetans Die" and "Hu Jintao is a Killer" 2,000 Tibetans marched from Borough Hall across the Brooklyn Bridge to the United Nations to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Tibet's National Uprising against China's Communist Party's invasion, occupation and rule over Tibet.

Marching uptown, (holding up traffic along the way), on their way to the United Nations demanding an end to China's illegal occupation of Tibet. Reporters from New York Times and Associated talked to Tibetans who expressed their desire for democracy, freedom and human rights in Tibet.

Then the Tibetans went to Flushing Queens, for panels discussing China's Government and Tibet. The Tibetans also gathered at China's consul General in Manhattan and ended the day holding a rally with China's Democracy Party in Union Square.
